I was fortunate to find Jerry’s listing and to secure a room for the summer session I was in…I absolutely loved staying at his residence, it was very quiet, clean & very close to the University! He takes care of his home and it shows! Thank you Jerry for a wonderful stay & I look forward to a possible stay there next year! 🙂
Jerry was my landlord for a couple of years during university. He is a great guy and will fix any problems you may have, there is also lots of people in the house so the environment is wonderful! Thank you very much Jerry =)
Best place to live in Victoria. If I don’t have to move to another state, I would just stay there. Or if a room is not available, I would put my name on the waiting list. Jerry is really cool, friendly, and easy to talk to. I had the best experience in his place. He maintains a supportive & peaceful living environment so you can focus 100% on school. Highly recommend to anyone.
It’s been a lovely stay at Jerry’s place. He’s such a sweetheart, always ready to help. And the best part of staying at his place? The lovely dogs♥️
Though not a very long one, but I had a wonderful experience spending my summer here, and playing with the dogs, in an overall peaceful environment.

It has been an absolute pleasure staying at Jerry’s place. I have spent three out of my four-year undergraduate here, so I know what I am talking about.
First and foremost, the house and Jerry the landlord offer everything necessary for a high-quality life, academic and personal. Jerry is definitely one of the kindest, nicest, and most warm-hearted people I have ever known, helpful and consistently efficient. Also, the location is beyond satisfaction. Within no more than ten-minute walking range, there are grocery stores, ATMs, bus stops, pharmacy, post office, gas station, Starbucks (trust me, you are going to need it before exams and papers), playground next to the beach (you are going to need it after exams and papers), Thai and Japanese restaurants (you are going to need them during exams and papers, and they do takeout), and all kinds of gift shops (they really come in handy seriously), etc., once again, the nearby community offers a safe, friendly and convenient living environment.
Highly recommended and thank you Jerry for your hospitality and generosity. Best wishes.
This place was absolutely gorgeous – clean, stylish, bright. The location couldn’t have been better. Stibbard house is just a few minutes stroll from the beautiful gyro beach and park, right across the water from the Victoria Yacht club. It is also a convenient walk to the University of Victoria where community members and students may access free wifi, workspace, and printing. Tenants may also enjoy walking along the campus forest trails to the famous Finnerty gardens. The house is right across the street from a variety of stores and restaurants such as Pepper’s gourmet local groceries, a juice bar, a full serve gas station, lively pubs, fine dining, coffee shops and patio breakfast nooks. You can also rent paddle boards at the local board shop! We had our own bathroom and found Jerry and the other tenants to be very kind, and welcoming companions. There are a number of bus routes and bicycle rentals in the area which makes it easy to get downtown if you don’t have a car. We had everything we needed right at our fingertips and had a relaxing, quiet stay by the beach this summer while studying for our bar exams. Thanks for an awesome summer Jerry! – Peggy and Max
I was very fortunate to get a room in jerry’s house. Jerry is a great guy always very helpful. He takes care of all the stuff and I had the best experience at his house. I would definitely recommend Jerry’s place to everyone searching a room to live near Uvic. The rent is very decent and you can enjoy company of very helpful companions. I stayed at Stibbard Residence for 6 months. Jerry s house is a wonderful place to stay as a student. It a safe space with affordable price and furnished. The location is perfect. Close to the beach, close to groceries, restaurants, and of course close to University of Victoria. Jerry is an awesome person. He takes care of every detail for the students. You can do laundry, cook, meet nice people and have a clean and comfortable space to rest and study. The Wi-Fi is great, You ca get a tv with cable and all utilities are included. All of these really make it a great deal. I recommend Stibbard House Student Residence. Muy buen lugar! Gracias Jerry por todo! 🙂
I have been staying at Jerry’s for 6 years now. There’s nothing this man hasn’t done to help me out. He’s lent me this bicycle to bike to school, he’s taken me to the hospital when I had an accident and he always keeps these lovely pooches around who are super chill to hangout with and an instant cure for depression. You can talk to Jerry about pretty much anything and he’ll shed some more light on that topic and teach you new things. Very knowledgeable, classy gentleman with an amazing place to live at. Whenever I think of a home in Victoria, I always think of this place and I probably always will. Sure the tenants come and go but being the responsible and smart individual that Jerry is, he has always managed to identify genuinely studious, friendly and easy going people as his tenants. Great location, great landlord, great ambiance. 10/10 would recommend!
Jerry’s house is great. Jerry is super friendly and keeps the house running smoothly. He’ll bend over backwards to help you out and make sure you have what you need. I enjoyed my time living at the Stibbard Residence. The location is perfect, just a short walk up to uni, or down to the nearby store and beach. Cadboro Bay is a lovely neighbourhood.
I was needing a quick place to stay for over the summer and Jerry delivered. Secure, clean and comfortable accommodations very close to Cadboro beach, buses, UVIC, grocery and restaurants. Jerrys a great guy and even helped me with getting into longer term rental with his connections in the area.
