My name is Jerry Donaldson and I have been accommodating University of Victoria and Camosun College students here in my home since 1999. Over the past 25 years I have housed students from Canada, the U.S. and all over the world. I am myself a U-Vic alumnus (B.A, LL.B., 1990). I attended U-Vic from 1984 to 1990.
I live in the house full time. I maintain a friendly, supportive, peaceful living situation where academic success is everyone’s goal. I am friendly and approachable and I am seldom far away from the house.
The University of Victoria campus is 500 meters west. Grocery store, deli, restaurants, professional services, coffee shops and the beach are about 200 meters east. The bus to downtown or the University is one minute away.
Each room is fully furnished. Individually controlled electric heat, cable and high-speed wifi are included in the rent. The common areas, kitchens and bathrooms are cleaned professionally once per week. I supply all dishes and small appliances, cleaning supplies, paper towels and toilet paper. Use of the laundry facilities is included, but you must provide your own laundry detergent.

Stibbard House Student Residence 
Hi every body. This is Mohammad, Ph.D. Student from Iran. I was in this Home for 8 months at 2012 April till 2012 December. Home is very quiet and so close to Uvic. The bus stop is near to home and also there is a large store less than 300 meters to home.
Jerry, landlord, is so so friendly and happy man. If you have a problem don’t hesitate to ask him and request his help, WHY?? Because he , I’m sure, like to help you as much as he could.

My name is Billie Leslie. I lived at the Stibbard Residence when I was student at Uvic… this is the PERFECT location for anyone attending Uvic! Peppers Grocery store is a less than one minute walk and offers a 10% discount to students… Gyro Park and Beach is a 1 minute walk and a great place to drink your morning Starbucks! The house is right on a bus route that goes downtown, Uvic etc (although a 5 minute walk up the hill will get you to school!). I highly recommend this house for anyone looking for a warm and inviting place that is peaceful and well maintained. Jerry is a professional and kind landlord who goes out of his way to make sure all his tenants are happy and safe! I’m happy to provide additional feedback for anyone interested in staying at the Stibbard Residence!

My name is Lada and I have lived with Jerry for four months at the Stibbard Residence. Jerry is very welcoming, warm and extremely helpful and a wonderful landlord to chat to. He is also exceptionally accommodating and eager to help students with any requests.
This house is located in a wonderful area with a 5 minute walk to UVic and a 2 minute walk to both the beach and the grocery store. It is also located 2 minutes away from a bus stop that goes directly downtown.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Stibbard Residence, and I would recommend this house to all students because of its friendly tenants and great location.

My name is Daniel and I lived at Stibbard House Student Residence for three months and it was amazing. The room and the house was nice and cozy and if you needed help with anything Jerry was right there to fix whatever problem you had. Great location as well, near the supermarket and the beach! What else could you ask for? Also, super close to UVIC and it’s right beside the number 11 bus that takes you right downtown. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced, comfortable and superbly located place to live in, I would choose Stibbard House.
Amazing house to live in. Fantastic, quiet location right by UVic, cadboro beach, Pepper’s grocery store (don’t forget to ask for the 10% student discount), Starbucks, beer store, etc. Jerry is also the best landlord in all of Victoria and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Absolutely superb place to live!!
I SPENT 4 MONTHS HERE AND ABOVE ALL, THIS RESIDENCE IS PERFECTLY SUITED TO STUDENT LIFE. THE LOCATION IS UNBEATABLE, AND THE CONVENIENCE OF BEING CLOSE TO A PHARMACY, GROCERY, AND WONDERFUL THAI TAKEOUT MADE THE SEMESTER MUCH EASIER. I’VE KNOWN JERRY FOR DECADES, HAVING BEEN ACQUAINTED WITH HIS DAUGHTER AS CHILDREN. HE IS A STANDUP GUY AND UNDERSTANDING LANDLORD. I APPRECIATED HIS WILLINGNESS TO HELP, ALONG WITH HIS RESPECTFULLY LAID BACK ATTITUDE. A very comfortable house in a very lovely neighbourhood! With a grocery, pharmacy, Starbucks, a Japanese restaurant and a Thai restaurant within a minute’s walk, the convenience of being here is unmatched. Also it is so close to the beach and very well connected if you would like to use BC Transit. Most significantly, Jerry is the most understanding, cooperative and helpful person I have known. He is completely dependable and trustworthy. I had a very pleasant stay and I can’t wait to be back!
I had a great three year stay living in Room 2. The house is at an prime location, being a short distance from Peppers market, the bus stop, and UVic. The room came furnished with plenty of furniture, and yet was still very spacious. The homeowner, Jerry, is hospitable and attentive to maintenance needs. I had a much better experience living here than in UVic residences.
Hi students. I stayed at this house for a year and it was a great experience that felt like home. Jerry had been a great host and he had been a great friend too. I met him when he picked me up from the airport and tried his best to help me with everything to make the settling in process much easier for me. He was making sure to help me in everything i needed and told me about the best places in town. If you’re a calm and respectful person looking for a place suitable for studying i highly recommend this place for you as Jerry was always able keep the place calm providing a good living atmosphere for everyone. Jerry also was very attentive to maintenance and made sure to fix anything that is broken sometimes in the middle of the night. I really appreciated that jerry did not accept that i take a cab to the airport when i left and he insisted to drive me himself.
Moving on to the house’s location, it’s the best that you could get in Victoria. Very close to uvic, the bus station and gyro park which is becoming more and more a highly desired location. Peppers groceries, starbucks, Lemongrass ( Thai restaurant) and jusu bar are all minutes away from the house.
I stayed at this residence for the whole period during my stay in Canada and I never felt the need to look for a better place.
I lived in room 1 and it stayed cool over the summer and had all the furniture I needed. Jerry is possibly the most helpful person ever; you will definitely have lots of stories about the nice things he did for you or your roommates after living here. The place was slightly pricier than other places I’ve lived, but it was worth it considering Jerry does the chores like vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom, and taking out the garbage and recycling, and you just generally feel safe and secure living in the house.
I was in Victoria for an internship at UVic and I lived in room 2 for eight weeks. I was lucky to find this residence. Jerry’s house was the perfect location to live since the house is just a 15 min walk away from the university. I had all I needed here, the bed was very comfortable and there was enough space in the room and in the common areas. Jerry even lent me a bicycle for the time of my stay and didn’t hesitate to repair it when it got broken. He was a really good landlord since he cares about the well-being of the residents and gives a helping hand if you need it.
I had a wonderful experience at the Stibbard Residence. Jerry is a wonderful landlord. He is very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. This house is located in a fantastic area for students. It is very close to UVic and a 2-minute walk to both the beach and the grocery store. Also, it is very well connected if you would like to use BC Transit. SUPERB!!! I highly recommend this place to everyone.
I stayed at Jerry’s house in the suite downstairs for a month. When I phoned him, I didn’t have anyone to help me move all my things, and he offered to help me move. He was so kind, and the roommates were very nice too and I felt safe. Jerry has many dogs and they are very entertaining and cute!!!!! You will never be lonely at this house because the dogs will always be happy to see you. The beach is just a short walk down, and up from the house, UVic is not far away. You can get basic groceries not far from the house too. I asked Jerry to help me move to my new house, and he helped me again!!! I’m so glad he helped me out and I was able to live at his house. It was a good experience 🙂

I found Jerry’s place in this website way back in 2018, before moving to Canada to finish my studies in Electrical Engineering. I ended up staying in the house in two separate occasions, first from from 2018 to 2020, and then I came back from 2022 to 2023.The house is located in one of Victoria’s best neighnorhoods! Close to important ammenities (groceries, postal service, pharmacy), thanks to Caddy Bay’s Village being just 5 minutes away! And it is only a 15 minutes walk to most of UVic’s buildings! The fact that the tenant of the Stibbard House gets to have the landlord living in the place cannot be taken for granted! Jerry is a truly amazing landlord too! He goes above and beyond to make sure the tenants have all of the common-area related ammenities taken care of (kitchen supplies, laundry machines are brand new when I last left the house in 2023, garbage, etc.). On top of that he is also keen-eyed for picking good tenants (I have never had roomate issues while living there and saw friendships grow between the people in the house, time and time again).
Altogether my stay at the Stibbard Residence has been wonderful through and trhough! Could not recommend a better place for your long-term stay in Victoria, especially if you are a student! Truly a blessed place!
