BASIC INFORMATION

The house is three floors. My private quarters are on the third floor. I have my own kitchen and bathroom.

Also on the third floor is Room 8, which is a very large bed-sitter with a private ensuite bathroom.  Room 8 shares the main floor kitchen.

On the main floor there are three student rooms sharing the main floor kitchen. Two of them (Rooms 5 and 6) share a bathroom. Room 4 has a private 3 piece bathroom attached.

The two main floor rooms in the front are the very large bedsitters (Rooms 4 and 5). The third main floor room (Room 6) is smaller and located at the rear of the main floor. My small home office is also located on the main floor. In addition to the kitchen there is a modest common area

On the ground floor are three more student rooms (Rooms 1, 2 and 3). These three rooms share a kitchen and a bathroom, separate from the main floor. The ground floor has a separate entrance to the driveway. There is also a staircase to the main floor. The washer and dryer are on the ground floor for the use of all residents.

The common areas are professionally cleaned once per week. Dishes, dishtowels, washing up liquid, toilet paper etc are supplied. Students provide their own laundry products. I take care of recycling and garbage.  I can supply bedding if you like.

There is lots of street parking, and in a pinch I will allow you to park a car in the driveway temporarily. Motorcycles can be parked behind the house.

The house is about 100 meters from Cadboro Bay Village: groceries, drug store, health food store, organic juice bar, two good restaurants, Starbucks, gas station/car repair, pub, paddle board rental/yoga studio, other stores and services.  There is a long, sandy beach on Cadboro Bay and it is just a short walk away.

The bus downtown or to the University stops every 20 minutes about 100 feet from the house. There is also a community bus to UVic which stops right across the road. It is a short walk to UVic from here.

I only rent to students or visiting faculty, and the house is geared toward study. I insist that the house be quiet after 10:30 pm. I don’t allow parties or overnight guests. Traffic on Sinclair Road is fairly steady during daylight hours but after midnight traffic drops right off and the neighbourhood is very quiet.

I am a friendly and approachable chap, and I am happy to offer help and advice to my students. I did my BA and my law degree at UVic.

I do have several dogs, so if you have animal allergies you may not find the environment comfortable.

Please feel free to call or email if you have further questions.
